Dean Haniko, Director of Technology Department, said, “We have developed application software for customers to simplify the process; according to the company’s traditional services, our interaction with customers is very frequent. Apart from digital color printing, we can provide any services. Adding digital printing technology is inevitable."

LaVingne Press partners with Printable Technologies to simplify customer interface software; Great Lakes is developing AKSESS on its own. On average, the two printers spend a fortune on printing equipment and have another piece of money spent on infrastructure including software and reserve staff.

Online on-demand service

The ideal Internet-based on-demand service allows customers to create their own company's marketing printouts on their own web pages. These systems provide an easy-to-use browser interface that enables sales, trading, and customer service departments to order specific groups of incidental industries. , and then personalize and print according to the customer's data in the database. For national companies, each branch has to take care of the characteristics and differences in the domestic market.

Fast-growing digital printers, such as Lexinet, have found this market model to be very successful. Founded in 1982, RT Associates specializes in digital printing, prepress, photography and creative services. RT Associates, in conjunction with Saepio's Agilis variable-print software and NexPress 2100, has developed a solution that attracts local distributors to produce content.

United Stationers, the largest wholesaler of goods from office supplies to furniture, worked with RT Associates to develop direct sales and related sales management programs, dubbed Star Club. United Stationers knew that neither the small family business nor the large 250 million annual merchandise agency had time to design direct sales. Agents need ways to create instant, tailor-made and affordable marketing tools. RT Associates adopts a web-based solution that provides a model for the industry to develop one-person and minority-personalized information locally. This application brings 23% annual profit growth to RT Associates.

In order to support the level of application software development, these companies invest heavily in basic equipment. In general, a company invests a bit of color technology for a dollar, and it will spend two dollars on infrastructure.

The development of software resources is the key to success. At least 10% of company employees must have background knowledge of information technology.
