The macro characteristics of ebony products: the heart and sapwood are distinctly different, and the heartwood is black or chestnut brown. Loose hole material. The axial thin tissue is rich, and the main concentric layer is linear (tangential). The wood ray is fine to very fine, the surface markings are not obvious, and the string marks are not visible. The wood is shiny. No special smell. The structure is fine and uniform, and the texture is usually until it is slightly staggered. The material is hard and heavy. Corrosion resistant and durable. The air dry density is greater than 0.85 g/cm3 and usually sinks in water.
