KBA enters the UK rotary printing market

The British Woodford offset printing plant ordered a 48-page Compacta 618 rotary press from KBA for the purpose of updating their Baker Perkins G16, which led KBA to enter the UK web offset market.

Essex Business & Journal Printing Company believes this 5-meter 48-page web press is ideal for current market needs. This will be available in November this year. Simon Fox, its marketing manager, said: "Basically all web presses will be 48 pages or 64 pages, and the 16-page rotary press will belong to those specially developed sheetfed markets."

Due to the larger format and faster speed of the machine, it will help the Woodford offset printing plant to increase its production capacity by 70%. Woodford also plans to increase the corresponding binding production capacity. In addition, they belong to the first batch of plates in the UK using Agfa Xcalibur platesetters.
