Ningxia has developed a new process for the treatment of black liquor from papermaking

A new papermaking black liquor treatment process has passed the appraisal of the relevant departments of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and some production experiments have also been successful. This process is more economical than traditional processes, and it is very advantageous for small papermaking companies with annual papermaking capacity of about 10,000 tons.

This process was proposed by Shi Huacai, a senior engineer at the Institute of Environmental Protection of Yinchuan City.

The black liquor produced during the pulping of papermaking is the culprit of papermaking pollution. The traditional method of black liquor treatment is to burn first, and then separate the alkali in the black liquor. At least 4,000 million yuan worth of investment is needed for every 10,000 tons of production.

Shi Huacai researched the treatment process by first separating the alkali in the black liquor by ion exchange and then concentrating the black liquor. This will not only make the black liquor extraction rate of 64.6%, the alkali recovery rate of 42.21%, but also black liquor solid waste become treasure. According to the experimental results, the black liquor after extraction can be used as a compound feed after drying. Its nutritional value is similar to that of dried meal and rice bran, and the crude protein content is higher than that of corn.
