"Eleventh Five-Year Plan" Development Suggestion for Polyurethane Adhesive

Recently, the deputy secretary-general of the China Polyurethane Industry Association, Weng Hanyuan, pointed out that China's polyurethane adhesive development opportunities during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period and related development planning proposals.
Secretary General Weng Hanyuan pointed out that during the “11th Five-Year Plan” period, adhesives in China should focus on the following developments:

1. To develop and complete the research and development (or introduction, cooperation) of water-based polyurethane adhesives for footwear and composite films, and establish a number of 1,000-ton waterborne polyurethane adhesive production lines with product performance that meets the current international advanced level;

2. Based on self-developed technology, the company has imported key foreign equipment and built several thousand tons of continuous bulk bonded TPU resin production lines. At the same time, it has developed series of varieties with advanced performance levels in foreign countries.

3. Continue to strengthen the development of polyurethane sealant technology focusing on one-component moisture-curing polyurethane sealants (buildings, automobiles, etc.), build several thousand-ton production lines, and develop several products with performance equivalent to those of foreign products. Advanced production process equipment, packaging materials and construction equipment;

4, to complete the development of high heat resistance cooking film composite film with polyurethane adhesive;

5, research and development of "green" solvent-based, non-yellowing, high-performance polyurethane adhesive solution polymerization advanced production process, replacing the highly toxic solution polymerization process;

6. To speed up the research and development of reactive hot melt type and 100% high performance liquid reactive polyurethane adhesives and other special polyurethane adhesives;

7. Develop water-dispersible polyisocyanate and vinyl-based waterborne polyurethane adhesives that are used as substitutes for trialdehyde adhesives, such as wood-based panels, glulam, and plastic-laminated panels, to reduce costs, expand applications, and build several thousand-ton production lines.
