Bottles and cans are usually bolted or ring-type sealed, and at various stages in the life cycle of this seal, they rely on precise torque to seal safely.
The digital sealing torque tester Orbis, introduced by Mecmesin Co., Ltd. in 2003, can accurately determine the relevant torque when it is first opened, resealed and reopened, and is very popular in the packaging industry. However, the torque of the anti-theft seal is very complicated, so a special detector Orbis-TE for anti-theft cap torque came into being.
Metal anti-theft caps (ROPP) are mostly used for the sealing of alcoholic beverages, especially liquor. The aluminum cap and anti-theft bolt seal are used for the packaging of children's foods, and the plastic caps are mostly used for the sealing of PET soft drink bottles. When more and more return torque is applied to the cap system, a peak torque occurs, and when this peak is reached, the cap moves. However, in terms of TE caps, the torque must be used to overcome the friction at the same time, so that the "bridge" (connection point) between the cap and the anti-theft ring has a strong tensile performance. In the end, one of the “bridges†will be destroyed during the opening of the bottle cap, and then a new torque peak will be generated. Of course, the second peak will be much smaller than the previous one.
Orbis-TE can capture and display these two peaks. With a simple press of a button, the relevant data is automatically displayed on the computer or output directly from the printer.
Mecmesin Torque and Torque Testing Systems are distributed worldwide and are exclusively distributed in the United States and Canada by Dillon-WeighTronix, Inc. of Fairmont, Minnesota, USA under the registered brand `Quantrol`
