After the DT-R1030AI scanner is turned on every day, it needs to do the following two tasks before scanning: 1. Do white balance. The white balance of the transmission and reflection drafts needs to be done separately. The white balance of the transmission drafts needs to align the scanning head to a clean place on the roller, and then press the two keys FNC + CAL on the control panel at the same time, the machine starts automatic correction; the reflection draft You need to put a piece of white paper on the roller (the whiteness of the paper will directly affect the color of the scanned image), and then point the scan head at the white paper and do as described above. It is very important to do the work of white balance, it will directly affect the color of the image after scanning, so when doing it, you must carefully select points. In addition, the roller cannot be moved during the white balance process. 2. Select the scan starting point. Move the scanning head to the upper right corner of the original to be scanned, and then press the CAL key on the control panel to confirm. When attaching originals, pay attention to sticking the originals to the left side of the roller as much as possible, so that when there are not many originals, the pre-scanning range is small, and the entire roller does not need to be scanned, saving time. After completing these tasks, press the "Online" button. The display shows "Online", indicating that the scanner is connected to the computer and you can start pre-scanning.
Because the screen DT-R1030AI scanner was launched earlier, the software installation disk that comes with it is a small floppy disk. Small floppy disks are easy to damage. Users are advised to share one with other storage devices. Software installation disks include: Scanning Driver (Driver), Plug-in, Updata, AI (including RGB, CMYK and negatives), negative scanning, ICR, Color Data (including RGB, CMYK and negatives). The Updata disk is used to upgrade the scanner system and is not required when installing the software. Negative film scanning, ICR, and Color Data disk are optional features.
The installation of DT-R1030AI software is a bit special, and it is different from the general software installation. When installing, first put the scan driver disk into the computer and click INSTALL to install. After installation, find the installed folder in the machine. There is a file in the folder: Option. Clicking will display an installation menu, which includes the installation of AI, negative scan, ICR, Color Data, which item to install Click on any function, and then insert the floppy disk into the machine according to the prompt to install. You cannot insert these disks directly into the machine.
After installing the software, you can start scanning. Click the installed software to enter, you can see the interface below (Figure 1).

In the interface, Resolution represents the scanning accuracy, and this item can also be changed to set the magnification; Mode represents the scanning mode, the general color manuscript is set to CMYK mode; Desity is the density, Highlights represents the density of highlights, Shadow represents the density of dark tone ; Nega Color means negative film, not selected as positive scan; Reflection means scanned reflection draft, not selected as transmissive draft, please note that this selection should be consistent with the selected scanning light source in the machine; AI Channel means AI channel, of which there are four Items (standard, maintain original tone, correct color shift and brighten highlights, the operator can choose according to the situation of the original); the buttons at the bottom are: Scan, Prescan, AI Set (AI Setup) and preview (Preview).
Two adjustments are required for newly installed software. First select the Scanner Setup item under the Preference menu, and the following interface appears (Figure 2).

Then select the Driver Setup item under the Preference menu, and the interface shown in the figure below appears (Figure 3).

After the two settings are set, open the three items of AI Channel, Nega Color, and Color Control under the Option menu, click the "Prescan" button to start prescanning, then select the main area in the image, select AI Channel, and click AI Setup Press the button to complete the setting of AI. This process is very important in the entire scanning process. When making AI settings, the scanner will determine a scanning curve according to the highlight, dark tone and midtone information in the selected area. The selected area is different, and the tone information inside Also different, then the scanning curve will have a certain difference, and the color and tone of the scanned image will be different. Click the "Preview" button to view the predicted image, use the eyedropper tool to understand the percentage of the main parts of the network, if there is a problem that needs to be modified, you can use the Color Setup setting under the Window menu to modify it. Click Color Setup to display the following menu (Figure 4).

HD and SD are the density of highlight and dark tone. It has been determined when doing AI and does not need to be modified here. The following items are highlight dot percentage, dark tone dot percentage, and intermediate tone dot percentage. The percentage of halftone dots is mainly determined by the value of halftone dots according to the situation of each color version of the midtones. There are several scanning curves in Tone Curve, which are divided into four categories: Linear (10% brighter in the middle tone, suitable for color newspaper printing or improving extremely boring originals), Light (5% brighter in the middle tone) , Suitable for reflective manuscripts), Medium (moderate curve, suitable for transmissive manuscripts), Heavy (dark 5% in the middle tone, generally not used, can be used for high-quality printing, color has depth), and in various Divided into four types, the curve marked with 3+ is the reference curve, the curves marked with 2+ and 1+ are 5% and 10% for brightening and brightening, 5% and 10% for darkening and darkening, and 4+ The curve is brightened by 5%, and the medium-dark tone is brightened by 5%. The slope of the curve from 1+ to 4+ highlights is increased, and the details are easier to distinguish, but the original particles are obvious. Sharpness is sharpening, and the choice of sharpening depends on the condition of the original. In Color, there are standard, achromatic structure, emphasis on C version, emphasis on M version, and emphasis on Y version to choose from, but it is basically not used when scanning.
After the modification is complete, click the "Preview" button again to view the modification, and then modify and view until you are satisfied with the "Scan" button to scan and store, so that you can complete the scanning process of an original.
