Bruckner launches new method for running biaxially oriented film production line

It is reported that Bruckner (Brückner) the company's "Intelligent Line Management" is a new way to run a two-way stretch film production line, which is to focus on the process instead of the usual machine-focus.

This new concept of operation is supported by several auxiliary systems and can also upgrade the old production line.

Reinhard Priller, Sales Director of Brückner Maschinenbau, said: “The most important advantage is that the production process is more reliable. The product quality is better and the operation is simpler because the operator does not need to handle hundreds of parameters and can focus on more important aspects. , such as stretch ratio or temperature, etc."

He compared this innovative technology with the development of the car. "If you look back 30 years ago, then you have to be careful when braking on wet roads, and now with ABS, this is no longer a problem."

Intelligent Line Manager is part of Brückner's move to Industry 4.0. Priller explained: "We want to connect all the individual machine parts together so that they can communicate with each other. Our vision is that every part of the equipment knows its conditions, for example by issuing an alarm when maintenance is required, which can shorten the downtime."

He believes that now is a good time for the company to push the concept of Industry 4.0 into China. "Because Brückner is known for its innovative technology, innovative technology is extremely valuable to customers."

Priller said: "In the past, we can provide larger production lines with higher yields and lower production costs. However, with increasing speeds and continuous increase in production volume, delivery times have been shortened, and the demand for quality has continued to increase, thus operating thin films. Stretching the production line is a very complicated task. The challenges faced by plastic film manufacturers and their operators in ensuring stable production, high efficiency, and high quality films are increasing."

Christian Aigner, Brückner's marketing manager, added that sustainable development is also an important issue in China. "For example, we have found that the solar industry will recover next year, so the demand for polyester thick film and solar battery backplane will increase. After all, the entire world needs renewable energy."

Another major development trend in China is electric traffic, such as electric vehicles, scooters, and electric bicycles. Brückner said that Brückner discovered this trend a few years ago and has since been focusing on lithium ion battery separator technology.

Priller explained: “This is a global development trend, but it is more prominent in China because China is large in size and there is an urgent need to reduce pollution. We can provide traditional high efficiency wet process or patented 'half dry process'. Evapore production line concept can be further reduced Production costs, and therefore producers are more competitive in the market.”

For Brückner, 2016 was better than expected. Priller is particularly satisfied with the large demand for special film production lines in China. "The Chinese market is moving from the general commodity market to a more specialized film market, which is significant."

In the first half of 2017, it continued to maintain strong growth. Priller found that investments in replacing old production lines are increasing, or benefiting from the latest innovations in the commodity film market; demand for battery separator production lines continues to grow; and thick polyester films and special thin film markets are expected to recover.

Priller said: "In short, we are very optimistic about the Chinese market. We think that the journey into 2018 will be bright."
