A pair of 3D printed custom insoles will provide greater comfort than a normal insole. Designing a 3D printed insole is a systematic digital work, 3D scanning of the foot, design of the insole shape, analysis of the force on the foot, design of the porous structure, preparation before 3D printing, etc., each step is The 3D printed insole is indispensable before it is born. Even for a friend with a certain foundation, this is not a simple job.
Gyrobot is a mechanical design company. Based on its many years of 3D printing insoles, Gyrobot has launched Gensole, a 3D printed insole online design tool. Gyrobot's positioning of Gensole is an easy-to-use 3D printed insole design tool that covers 3D printed insole design software and printing solutions, allowing users to create 3D printed insoles via a web browser. In this issue, let's take a look at Gensole.
Prepare for 3D printing
Define the contour of the insole - adjustable parameters
A two-dimensional contour for testing whether the insole matches the shoe.
Since the shoe size and width of the shoes produced by different shoe manufacturers will be slightly different, the insole template provided by Gensole is almost impossible to match all the shoes. However, Gensole can generate a two-dimensional contour image of the insole. The user can print the two-dimensional insole outline on white paper, and then manually cut it into the shoes to see if it is suitable. If not, you can fine tune in Gensole. Once the insole outline is perfectly matched to the shoe, it will move on to the next step in the insole design.
Import the foot scan model (if there is no scan data of the foot, you can also adjust the parameters based on the insole template provided by Gensole), and automatically match the upper surface of the insole with the foot scan data through the solemorph function.
After completing the previous step, hide the model of the foot scan.
Analyze the pressure distribution at the sole of the foot or import a predefined .dxf curve. Based on the pressure distribution at the sole of the foot, the mesh structure on the insole is designed to help the wearer relieve the pressure on the sole and add additional mechanical support.
Export the AMF file. AMF files can be sliced with Slic3r 3D Print Slicer.
Finally, the user can print the insole through his home or surrounding FDM 3D printer , which can use TPE/TPU wire, such as Filaflex.
